Intro and March Results

What's up Liquid Poker? I've been lurking and occasionally posting random hands for a while, but now I decided to start a blog so that I can track my progress, get advice, and get trolled by you guys.

First a brief introduction. I am currently a sophomore at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Around this time last year I decided I need to get more involved on campus and came across the Illini Poker Club while looking through the list of clubs. At the time I hardly played poker at all and was pretty terribad, but I did enjoy playing when I could with friends. I also did have some past experience playing some pretty nerdy card games, so maybe that's part of the reason poker appealed to me. So I went to a couple meetings, read some basic strategy powerpoints posted on the club's website, and started playing online at Stars. I got from NL2 to NL10 by being a huge nit, and then got stuck at NL10. At that point, I decided I was too impatient to play well on Stars, so I decided to move to Rush Poker on Full Tilt. I was still stuck at NL10-NL25 for a while, but I was actually improving with the help of edzwoo and friends, and by browsing forums and watching a bunch of videos. I moved up to NL50 and ran like 25BI below EV, but still rolled myself for NL100 just from rakeback. I was pretty unsuccessful at NL100 and took like 3 shots before deciding to give HU a try. Played a little NL50-NL100 HU and then started crushing Rush when I came back. In February I pretty much beat NL100 and NL200 starting from around a $2000 bankroll. I also quite my shitty job at one of the student dining halls in February In March I played like 90% NL400 Rush, a little bit of NL200 Rush while 6 tabling (where my redline drops lol), and a little NL100-200 HU. Here are my results:

This is a little motivation for all the micro grinders out there. As you can see, I was pretty much break even for a loooong long time at NL10-25.

I'm definitely happy with the money I'm currently winning, but I think it's time to move up. It's not just about the money, I just want to keep getting better and better. I think in April I'm going to get out of Rush and either focus on HU (starting at NL200) or just do regular ring games (starting at NL400) and see how far I can go. BTW, I have no experience with 6 max at all, but if I do regular ring games I might make the switch. Any advice on the transition from FR to 6-max or Rush to regular games?

Good luck at the tables!
